Yorkshire Plumbing helps homeowners restore reliable hot water with clear answers, honest recommendations, and emergency service.
Cold showers, leaks, rising energy bills, and the stress of not knowing what’s wrong can quickly turn into a bigger problem. A failing water heater isn’t just inconvenient, it can lead to property damage or safety concerns if ignored.
You shouldn’t have to guess whether your unit needs a repair or full replacement. You just want hot water back, safely and without pressure.
At Yorkshire Plumbing, we understand how frustrating water heater problems are. Our licensed plumbers take the time to properly diagnose the issue, explain what’s happening, and recommend the best solution for your home, not the most expensive one.
We’ve helped homeowners across Santa Rosa and Sonoma County restore hot water quickly and confidently, with professional service you can rely on.
If your water heater is still within its serviceable lifespan, a targeted repair may be all that’s needed. We handle common issues like heating element failures, pilot light problems, thermostat issues, and leaks.
When a unit is aging, inefficient, or failing repeatedly, replacement may be the smarter long-term choice. We install both tank and tankless water heaters and help you choose the right system based on your household’s needs.

We have used Yorkshire Plumbing on several occasions, and each time, the experience has been outstanding. It's clear that this is a family-run business, and that professionalism and care are their top priorities. The quality of the work is top-notch. They're not just quick; they're thorough, professional, and they take pride in what they do. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
If only all companies were as efficient and excellent as Yorkshire Plumbing. Gareth was extremely kind, Knowledgeable, and very reasonably priced. He resolved all of my problems in one visit. I would highly recommend them to anyone in search of a plumbing service. Thank you, Gareth!
Gareth is amazing. I knew he would be very professional from the moment he put protective covers on his shoes before stepping inside my apartment. I had backed up my kitchen sink, and he worked calmly and methodically to assess the problem and find the solution. It ended up requiring a full hour, but he got it taken care of—all with a great attitude and kindness. He worked very clean the whole way through and returned my kitchen to a perfectly clean status. I can't recommend these guys highly enough!!
I have an older house and knew my sewer main was a problem as I received an estimate a year ago for $18k to replace it. Gareth gave me a second opinion that would cost less than $3k. I agreed, and he was back out a few days later and completed the repair perfectly. Not only that, he was clear in communicating what was going on, different solution options, and what to expect. Top notch service and he'll be getting all my plumbing business from now on.
That is a difficult question to answer and can be answered several different ways. But, here at Yorkshire Plumbing we prefer to use American Standard for a conventional tank style water heater. When it comes to tankless, either a Rinnai or Navien are the preferred choice. The reasons behind these choices are based on several factors, including experience, feedback, and communication with the companies themselves. If you would like to know more about your water heater or our recommendation, give us a call.
While it’s very true, “they don’t make em like they used to”, you should still get between 8 and 12 years from a tank style water heater. You should expect a longer life from a tankless and depending on the installation, and usage, you can get up to and over 20 years.
